NET’s Violence Intervention Program (VIP)

Northeast Centers and PCCD Launch $950K Initiative to Combat Youth Violence in North Philadelphia

In a bold step toward reducing youth violence and fostering safer communities, NET Centers has partnered with the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency (PCCD) to launch a transformative initiative targeting young people in North Central and Eastern North Philadelphia.

Through this partnership, NET Centers has been awarded $950,000 over three years to deliver high-impact programming for youth ages 12 to 18 in the 22nd and 25th police districts—areas disproportionately affected by community violence.

This investment allows us to deepen our commitment to youth and families in neighborhoods that have long borne the brunt of systemic inequities and violence. We’re proud to work alongside PCCD and our various community partners to create pathways for healing, growth, and opportunity.

The initiative will focus on:

  • Trauma-informed care and violence prevention strategies
  • Mentorship and leadership development
  • Community engagement and restorative practices
  • Supportive services for families and caregivers
  • Academic and Cultural Enrichment
  • Science and Technology

By centering youth voices and building strong community partnerships, NET Centers aims to disrupt cycles of violence and promote long-term safety and stability.

This is more than a grant—it’s a promise to our young people that their lives matter and their futures are worth investing in.

Funding

Selected providers will be funded at a rate of $81.00 per hour, with a maximum daily allocation of $650.00. Program duration and scheduling will be determined by each provider’s scope of services and needs of the youth.

NET is currently seeking proposals from eligible providers. Proposals should include:

  • Program Model
  • Scope of Services
  • Budget
  • Days and Duration of Programming
  • Past Programming and Highlights
  • Space Needs (must be located within the 22nd or 25th police districts)
  • Deliverables and Potential Outcomes

This initiative is about more than funding—it’s about empowering youth and communities to break cycles of violence and build futures rooted in safety, opportunity, and resilience.

Interested providers and community partners are encouraged to submit proposals and join NET Centers in this critical mission to uplift and protect Philadelphia’s youth.
