In Home Detention

Court ordered program designed for delinquent youth. Serves as a detention alternative to residential detention in either secure detention at PJJSC or Community Based Detention Shelters. This program provides youth the opportunity to remain in the community as they await their adjudicatory hearing. Youth in this program receive 22.5 hours of weekly supervision. This program serves both males and females. The capacity varies by agency and each provides service to between 50-150 youth.

IHD Criteria

  • The juvenile should be pre adjudicated between the ages of 10 and 18 at time of arrest.
  • The juvenile must have a suitable home in Philadelphia which he or she may be placed.
  • The juvenile and guardian must have a cooperative attitude concerning the basic elements of the program such as: Daily contacts by an In-Home Detention Advocate or Counselor, daily school attendance or employment, a curfew or house restrictions.
