PA Adult Behavioral Health Services

At seven sites in Philadelphia and the Lehigh Valley, NET provides evaluation and treatment services to persons over the age of 18 who suffer from substance dependence problems alone or in combination with psychiatric disorders. Two of these sites – NET Bethlehem and Easton – also offer outpatient services for adolescents.

Services include Residential Treatment; Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) focusing on Addiction Recovery, Trauma Recovery and Co-Occurring Recovery; and Outpatient Recovery Services. The NETWorks Recovery Support Center offers holistic support to address vocation, housing, education, and social needs. A recovery management model, i.e., one that fosters and supports continuous and ongoing recovery, is reflected in the program structure and treatment interventions provided to consumers.

Residential Recovery Program

NET’s Wharton Center is a residential recovery program for chemically dependent men, with or without co-occurring mental health disorders or a history of criminality. The program is licensed by the Bureau of Drug and Alcohol Programs (BDAP) as a Medically Monitored Short-Term and Long-Term Residential Facility. An integrated treatment approach is provided through three phases of residential treatment: Assessment/Engagement, Stabilization, and Community Reintegration. Through the NET continuum of care, services are tailored to the consumer’s unique needs and provided without interruption. Treatment includes group psycho-education, psychotherapy, individual therapy, life skills training and daily 12-step meetings. Referrals are accepted from area hospitals, detoxification facilities and forensic programs. For more information or referrals, call 215.831.6050.

Intensive Outpatient Programs

Addiction Recovery IOP

Through group psychotherapy, psycho-educational seminars, medication management, and individual counseling, consumers receive individualized treatment designed to assist them in achieving their goals. Each center offers convenient morning, afternoon and evening treatment sessions. Programs are customized with specific attention to consumers’ unique needs. Services support consumers in the Forensic Intensive Recovery (FIR) Program — and others who are court-stipulated — in meeting their criminal justice requirements. Services are offered in Spanish at select sites. Medical needs are monitored by staff physicians, and co-occurring mental health issues are treated by clinical and medical professionals.

NET’s Spring Garden Counseling Center is an approved Assessment Site for Community Behavioral Health (CBH). For more information or to make a referral, call 215.451.7100.

Women’s Trauma Recovery IOP

This program recognizes the unique histories of trauma that lead women to abuse and dependence on substances. A key to the treatment approach is the Trauma Recovery Empowerment Model (TREM), a group-based intervention model. Women are taught to view themselves in more positive ways and are guided to build confidence in their ability to recover from the effects of past trauma and substance dependence. In addition to accepting a lack of control over addictive chemicals, women learn how to develop and use a personalized recovery plan.

Co-Occurring Treatment IOP

The program provides a holistic and unique treatment approach for consumers who suffer with both a diagnosed psychiatric illness and substance dependence. The Minkoff-based treatment approach recognized that psychological problems and difficulties in daily living often set the stage for the abuse of alcohol and/or drugs. Similarly, chemical abuse often triggers a decline in self-esteem, interferes with interpersonal relationships, and may damage one’s ability to cope with life’s stresses. The program focuses on developing a drug and alcohol-free lifestyle while treating the chronic effects of psychiatric illness to help ensure long-term recovery. Clinical and medical professionals treat any co-occurring mental health issues.

Outpatient Recovery Programs

Outpatient services (5 hours or less per week) are provided to consumers who do not require the additional structure offered in NET’s Intensive Outpatient Programs. Referrals can be made to this program by calling 215.451.7100.
